Bulldog Breed Story

The Bulldog is a descendent of the Asiatic Mastiff and was bred by English butchers as the ‘Olde English Bulldogge’ in the middle ages. They were given this name for the work they used to perform; they would help butchers herd bulls into the slaughterhouse. The dog’s powerful jaw meant that they could clasp the animal and move it to wherever the butcher needed it.
